Project Synopsis: Challenge/Opportunity
TGR Foundation is dedicated to empowering students to pursue their passions through education. As the organization expands its reach and impact, it seeks to better leverage internal data to inform and enhance both its marketing and fundraising strategies. Currently, while data is being collected across programs and engagement channels, the organization sees an opportunity to more effectively use that data to shape messaging, target the right audiences, and ultimately increase fundraising revenue and stakeholder engagement.

This project offers NYU Wagner students the opportunity to benchmark best practices in nonprofit data strategy and develop actionable recommendations to help TGR Foundation strengthen its internal systems and processes for data-driven marketing and fundraising.
Project Synopsis: Activities/Actions Required
  • Assess current data collection, analysis, and reporting practices related to TGR’s marketing and fundraising efforts.
  • Benchmark peer nonprofit organizations’ data strategies for marketing segmentation, donor personalization, and digital engagement.
  • Identify opportunities to centralize and visualize marketing and development data for internal teams.
  • Recommend key performance indicators (KPIs) and tracking methodologies to monitor marketing effectiveness and fundraising ROI.
  • Develop strategic guidance on how to better align TGR’s impact data with storytelling efforts to strengthen donor cases for support.
Project Synopsis: Expected Results
Success will be evaluated based on:

  • Practicality and innovation of proposed data utilization strategies.

  • Relevance of benchmarking to TGR’s size and mission.

  • Actionability of marketing and fundraising recommendations.

  • Internal stakeholder satisfaction and usability of outputs.
