Skills & Expertise
Project Synopsis: Challenge/Opportunity
Science of Sport is building a new product line of “out of the box” commercial STEM kits that will be sold directly to families.  The new product line and company will be called “Play-n-Learn.” The product line kits include sets of at-home activities that children can build and play with that help them learn more about sports and science.  The goal is to create a synergistic brand and logo since the new product line is unique from the non-profit’s programming.
Project Synopsis: Activities/Actions Required
  1. Deep Dive on Product Development:
    • Define specific STEM activities related to sports that will be included in the Play-n-Learn kits.
    • Review prototypes for the kits, ensuring they are engaging, educational, and safe for children of various age groups
    • Establish a production plan, including sourcing materials and manufacturing processes.
  2. Deep Dive on Sponsors, Customers, and Other Ecosystem Stakeholders
    • Who is most likely to engage with the Science of Sport brand? What about the Learn-n-Play kits?
    • What kind of brand separation / new brand/logo development is needed for the new product line?
  3. Branding and Logo Creation:
    • Work on creating a draft logo
    • Finalize market research and values/mission overview. Demonstrate how it aligns with your logo design.
    • Develop supplemental design package including use-cases of branding on the product, the packaging, business cards, and/or swag

Project Synopsis: Expected Results
  1. Develop a market-ready logo
  2. Pair logo with style guide and explanation of how these designs represent our mission and goals
  3. Enhance logo usability by demonstrating how it can be used on business cards, packaging, products, and swag
