| Project Synopsis: Activities/Actions Required | What we are creating is a new standard for charting that we hope is going to revolutionize the industry. We understand that data analytics is going to play a major role in how to arrive at the best clinical outcome. Yes, big data collection and analysis can spit out clinical decisions, BUT all the logic that is coming to these decisions will be created. So, we need to come up w a set of rules and algorithms to base these decisions on.

| Project Synopsis: Expected Results | How to come up with a set of rules and algorithms to base clinical decisions on. For instance, big data collection and analysis can spit out clinical decisions, BUT all the logic that is coming to these decisions will be created. So, we need to come up with a set of rules and algorithms to base these decisions on. In very simple terms, for example: For a ‘zoomed in’ example: High Suicide Risk for 4 weeks straight = send client into in-patient treatment asap Or Low suicide risk + clean drug tests for equal to or greater than 4 weeks = release patient Zooming out example: Greater than 7 patients reporting high risk of relapse for more than 4 weeks straight = send someone to that treatment facility to see why counselors are having such low success w the patients Or A counselor does not complete their forms per patient for more than 4 weeks straight = bring counselor in for evaluation Each of the ‘decisions’ could come in the form of a notification to whomever needs to see it, whether it’s the administration of the specific treatment facility or the counselor themselves regarding their patient. The only thing is, I don't think that ‘DECISIONS’ should be made based on the built-in logic, but rather ‘EDUCATED SUGGESTIONS’ that the counselors or the admin can consider, review, and THEN make the final decision. I say this because there is a lot of controversy over whether society should let computers make decisions for us rather than people making the decisions on their own, especially in the mental health realm. But I do think it should only be used as ‘educated suggestions based on data gathered’ rather than the final clinical decisions themselves. This controversy is perfectly portrayed in the movie The Social Dilemma, have you seen that movie? It’s good, it may helped us to understand the dark side of technology and the thin line that exists regarding ethics when it comes to automation and artificial intelligence. This would require turning the logic/rules you want to implement, into lines of code (whichever coding language the developer has chosen to use to build the software). These lines of code for example could come in the form of a simple if/then statement. Example: If rules that will trigger notification, THEN send notification to whomever needs it Definitely would be a GREAT addition to your software!!
